Product Description Do you learn better by watching rather than reading? Here is a chance to see how to transport your baby from screaming into serenity...in minutes. Watch as, step-by-step, Dr. Karp teaches new parent how to switch on their baby's powerful calming reflex. English and Spanish In "The Happiest Baby" Dr. Karp reveals a treasure sought by new parents for centuries... the "calming reflex" (the automatic "off-switch? for any baby?s crying). No wonder thousands of Los Angeles parents, from working moms to superstars like Madonna and Michelle Pfeiffer have turned to Dr. Karp to learn his secrets for making babies happy. Elisabeth Bing author and co-founder of Lamaze International "The Happiest Baby on the Block is fun, fascinating and convincing. I highly recommend it to all new parents." (Running time - 38 minutes.) The DVD also contains 3 bonus chapters: 1) Dr. Karp answers 25 questions from parents about calming babies and helping them sleep. 2) A Spanish dubbed audio track of the entire 38 minute teaching video. 3) Three tracks of calming white-noise sound that is an extraordinary mix of womb sounds and a newly designed pulsation that babies love (even though it sounds a little odd to the ears of an adult) Each track can be played individually, played in sequence or repeated for hours to gently guide your baby into a deep level of relaxation. This video is designed in NTSC not PAL or SECAM. It is meant for use in most countries in the Western Hemisphere as well as Japan, South Korea, Greenland, Guam, Samoa, and the Philippines.

very helpful for first time parent January 6, 2009 His calming techniques have been very helpful to us in calming our 2 week old. We definitely recommend this DVD.
It works please believe me December 30, 2008 I saw this in nursing school last year for my Maturnity rotation. I was really amazed by this. All of my classmates were eager to try this out this technique.I tried it on one of my patients baby and it worked!! I swore I would buy this if I ever got pregnant. Well a year later I became pregnant and now Im 9 months with my first baby, so this is a must have.
Essential for every new parent December 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Thank God a friend gave me this video when my baby was just a couple weeks old. It saved our lives. She is now 2 1/2 months old and we still use these techniques every day to stop her crying and help her sleep longer (she now sleeps in her bassinet at night and usually wakes up just once during a 9-10 hour night). She can go from screaming bloody murder to peaceful sleep in less than 5 minutes. Watch this video immediately!
Great help for putting baby to sleep December 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Was given this dvd by a neighbor when my daughter was 3 wks old. Daughter was a nightmare at night (bought one for my friend). Not only does Dr. Karp tell you how he gets babies to sleep but he demonstrates it on the dvd. Shows you how to create a womblike atmosphere outside the womb which is what babies crave the first few weeks. Worked until she was 3 months old. Thanks to Dr. Karp to giving us 8 hours of sleep so soon. I also recommend buying the book to supplement. Gets more in depth about why new babies struggle at night.
Excellent Aid for Fussy Babies December 16, 2008 The Happiest Baby on the Block DVD combines a slew of old folk remedies for fussy babies into a calming method that not only makes sense, but works. My mother-in-law and I watched it as we took turns pacing around with my crying, colicky baby. We watched the doc calming babies like magic and just stared at each other, awed. But it really works! These techniques help the baby calm so both you and she get a respite. I actually bought a copy and donated it to the local library and have given it twice as a baby shower gift. A really useful product!
