Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com
There has never been a more successful filmmaker than George Lucas, and few movies have had more impact on popular culture than his six "Star Wars" films. In the final film in that saga, "Revenge of the Sith," Lucas reached his goal of making an all-digital movie in which even Yoda, once a rubber puppet, is now a wholly computerized creature. Lucas shows Lesley Stahl some of the magic of computer animation.

3 out of 5 stars For the Collector Who Must Have Everything ONLY   April 7, 2008
3 out of 3 found this review helpful

In 1999, when George Lucas was preparing to release The Phantom Menace, 60 Minutes aired an hour-long episode devoted entirely to Lucas and his new movie. In 2005, as Lucas prepared to release Revenge of the Sith, 60 Minutes followed up on their 1999 piece with a fifteen minute segment on the new film, with a few updates about Lucas' life. This disc listed here is that follow-up, fifteen minute segment.

It's nice to watch and to have on DVD, but the first hour-long episode from 1999 was much more enjoyable. If someone has that on DVD let me know! The disc in this listing contains ONLY the Star Wars segment from 2005. A few new, short interview pieces and scenes from Revenge of the Sith. If you taped it when it first aired, you should be fine. But if you must have everything, well, it IS an exclusively Star Wars disc.

Also, caveat emptor! The artwork on the DVD box is NOT what is pictured on this listing. You will receive a GENERIC 60 Minutes box with the stop watch and the title laser-printed on. The blue graphic picturing Lucas and the Droids and the SW logo is only seen behind Leslie Stahl when she introduces the segment. So don't think you'll be getting a nifty new Star Wars DVD box to display.

So again, it's not an hour-long, it's only about 15 minutes. It's the follow-up to the original hour-long 1999 Star Wars 60 Minutes episode. And you just get a generic box. Enjoy...

5 out of 5 stars nice documentary   February 28, 2008

the last star wars movie was excellent, save for a little crappy romance dialogue. 60 mins doesn't have to be just about iraq or world stories.

1 out of 5 stars It was just a Movie, and not a very good one.....   June 25, 2007

Well all the hype for the thrid and last new SW movie came and went and in the end, it was all a big waste of time. This once respectable news magazine treated it like, well like it was some kind of visit from a big leader from another country or something. It was all hype and totally not needed. The movie was all effects and no script, and I saw first hand that it's fans are either selfish or strange. If 60 minutes wants to do something right, try covering stories that should take first priority like our troops in Iraq.
